Wow where has this year gone? I swear it should only be march. Yule is almost upon us southern hemisphere witches and likewise Litha is almost here for our northern sisters. This year my Yule will be spent catching up with friends and family that I don’t get to see very often. I’ll be cooking something yummy to share with my loved ones and I’m already planning what I will cook. It’s going to be interesting because I’ll spending the time with non-pagans as well as non-vegans… wish me luck 😊 I found a yummy looking Mushroom Puff recipe that I’d be inclined to try if not for the fact that my FIL refuses to eat mushrooms. I’m thinking Potato is going to be one of the vegetables taking centre stage in what ever it is I will end up creating.
It’s proving to be an unusually cold winter this year, especially in the southern most parts of Western Australia where I live. It’s going to be a good winter to stay indoors and finish off projects. For some reason I tend to do my “spring cleaning” over the winter months and the Yule season. Spring is the beginning of the year in my belief, calendar year has nothing to do with it, and I like to start the year fresh. I think this is why my clean out tends to happen over winter. It’s also a good indoor activity while it’s bucketing down with rain outside. And it always seems to be raining here in winter.
I like to keep my projects close to my chest until I’ve finished them so I’m not going to say what I plan to work on over the dark months ahead. I will say though that my projects are all writing related or craft related. I wish you all luck with your winter projects and hope they bring you joy.
